President-elect Donald J. Trump this weekend nominated Brooke Rollins to be Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The American Association of Crop Insurers, Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau, and National Crop Insurance Services released the following joint statement about her nomination.
“Congratulations to Brooke Rollins on being asked to join President Trump’s cabinet as Secretary of Agriculture. America’s crop insurers are looking forward to working closely with the USDA under Ms. Rollins’ leadership. Crop insurance has become agriculture’s top risk management tool thanks to the efficiency of private-sector insurance delivery, the strength of the public-private partnership, and its smart cost-sharing structure. Today, crop insurance covers more farmers, more acres, and more crops than ever before. We are excited to partner with the USDA and Congress to build on these successes and continue speeding assistance to agriculture and rural economies after disaster strikes.”
