Grant Krohn is a recipient of the 2026 Industry Leadership Award for consistently serving the industry and providing outstanding leadership to National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS) and the crop insurance industry. The award was presented during the 2026 Crop Insurance Industry Annual Convention in Indian Wells, Calif.

This award reflects Grant’s exemplary service and commitment as a member of the National Crop Insurance Services MPCI Policy, Procedure, and Loss Adjustment (MP/PPLA). During his 26-year tenure at Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa (FMH), and more than four decades in the crop insurance industry, Grant established himself as a respected leader, mentor, and subject matter expert through his significant contributions.

Grant was instrumental in the startup of FMH’s MPCI line of business in 1998, laying the foundation for the company’s successful expansion and long-term growth. His leadership is grounded in a deep and well-rounded knowledge of crop insurance, combined with an unwavering commitment to advancing policies and procedures that benefit the entire industry.

Grant was an enthusiastic member of the MP/PPLA Committee playing a key role in advancing the Committee’s initiatives. He consistently demonstrated dedication and reliability, ensuring tasks were completed to a high standard and was instrumental in the committee’s efforts and was always willing to go the extra mile to contribute and make sure everything was done right. His leadership was particularly impactful when he served as Vice Chair and provided invaluable input on policy and claims-related language, ensuring clarity and fairness for all stakeholders across the industry. His ability to provide thoughtful feedback has strengthened the Committee’s work and advanced initiatives that benefited agents, Approved Insurance Providers, and farmers alike.

He is widely respected for his technical expertise, sound judgment, and willingness to share knowledge with peers and colleagues across the crop insurance community. Grant’s contributions reflect not only his professional excellence but also his commitment to serving the industry as a whole. He embodies the spirit of leadership, service, and integrity that this award seeks to honor, and no one is more deserving of this recognition.
